
Before World War I Germany, with help of the Telefunken Company, had build up
a world-wide radio communication network. And the heart of this network was the
Nauen transmitting station. It was one of the greatest transmitting sites at
that time.
In addition Telefunken was using the Nauen Station as a test site for new
technologies.

The station started small in 1908:

but became greater in the next 10 years:

In 1920 the Telefunken company published a festschrift with the
name "Festschrift zur Einweihung der Grossfunkstelle Nauen am 29.9.20"
